Road Cycling
The primary focus of Aylesbury Cycling Club is road cycling. We organise weekly group rides at different ability levels to encourage participation. Equally, we arrange events and trips throughout the year, as well as promoting participation in rides, including the Tour de Vale in support of Wheel Power.

Where and When?
Saturday Rides
Our main club road rides leave every Saturday, from the Aqua Vale Swimming and Fitness Centre, Park Street, Aylesbury.
8.00am Fast Ride for fit riders with a competitive mindset, who are training for an event or smashing their PB. The typical pace is 20mph for a 55-65 mile route.
9.00am Fast Ride for experienced riders who are maintaining fitness and building stamina. Their typical pace is 17-19mph for a 50-mile route.
9.00am Moderate Ride for enthusiastic riders who love a challenge and enjoy the social side of group riding. The typical pace is 16mph for a 50-mile route.
9.00am Steady Ride for social riders who like exploring the countryside, but are not out to race. The typical pace is 14mph for a 40-mile route.
These rides typically include a café stop at a midway point and/or at the end. Our monthly ‘Social Saturday’ aims to coordinate all groups joining at the same café.
You don’t need to stick to the same group each week. Routes are posted on Strava in advance, so you can decide which appeals and sign up. We advise you to arrive early, as the group will leave on time.

Summer Thursday Rides
Through the summer months, we take advantage of the lighter, warmer evenings with a Thursday Ride from Jansel Square at 5.30pm. This is a Training/Moderate Ride of 30-40 miles, returning around 7-7.30pm.

Cycling Events
We share details of club events with members in an annual newsletter and on our social channels. These include social activities, including a summer BBQ, curry nights and the AGM, as well as away days and other events.
Which group should I ride with?
If you are new to Aylesbury Cycling Club, we’d advise that you start with a Steady or Moderate Ride on Saturday at 9.00am. If you comfortably maintain the pace throughout the route and feel you have more in the tank, opt for a faster ride the following week.
